Dr Anguraj Sadanandam
Congratulations to ICR‘s Dr Anguraj Sadanandam who has won £25,000 in a competitive scheme from the MedTech SuperConnector (MTSC) programme!
The new award builds on an earlier grant from the MTSC, which is overseen by Imperial College London, to develop a set of validated bowel cancer biomarkers into a commercially available test.
Dr Sadanandam, Leader of the Systems and Precision Cancer Medicine Team at the ICR, says, “We are confident in the potential clinical application of our cancer biomarkers and have strong, validated data linking our bowel cancer biomarkers with patient response to different treatments. But the regulatory landscape around biomarkers is very complex, and we need expert regulatory and health economics advice to build a business case that will help us to navigate it.
“This grant from the MTSC will help us to build our business case and, ultimately, we hope it helps to lead to our biomarkers being used as commercially available tests that benefit cancer patients.”
