COLOSSUS PI Wolf Hervé Fridman (left), Professor Emeritus of Immunology, University of Paris Medical School and the Institut National de la Sante et de la Recherche Medicale in Paris (INSERM) has been awarded the ESMO Immuno-Oncology Award 2021 for his outstanding achievements in immuno-oncology. Prof. Fridman whose research has made significant contributions to unveiling the prognostic and predictive role of the tumour microenvironment also delivered the Keynote Lecture at the opening of The ESMO Immuno-Oncology Congress on December 8, 2021.The award is given in commemoration of the European pioneer in cancer research and treatment, founding member and first President of ESMO, Prof. Georges Mathé. It is presented annually to an individual internationally recognised for outstanding achievements in the area of Immuno-Oncology. This year’s ESMO Award for Immuno-Oncology was presented at the annual ESMO Immuno-Oncology Congress.
