On May 21st, 2021, our partners Cancer Trials Ireland are hosting an online ‘Cancer Retreat’ for the entire clinical trials community of oncologists (medical, radiation and surgical), haematologists, researchers, research nurses, clinical site managers, teams, and patients. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss how the cancer trials community works together, how that could be improved, and the challenges and opportunities that may emerge in the next five years. Find the agenda and registration information here.

Dr Orla Casey, Cancer Trials Ireland comments: “Engagement across the cancer trials community is essential for the development of trials which improve outcomes for patients. The COLOSSUS translational trial is an example of a patient-focussed study, which has successfully connected collaborators both nationally and internationally. The ‘Cancer Retreat’  includes a panel session titled ‘The role of translational medicine, academic research and cross-border care’ which will incorporate discussion on the development of studies similar to COLOSSUS, and look to the future for this area of research.”
