Principal Investigators (PIs) involved in the COLOSSUS and MoTriColor projects hosted a packed public meeting for people with colorectal cancer, their carers, and relatives on February 27, 2020, at the Vall d´Hebron Institute of Oncology in Barcelona. Berta Colldeforns Riera of VHIO, one of the co-organizers of this interactive event reported: “Everyone seemed very interested in the trio of talks from Drs Rodrigo Dienstmann, PI of the Oncology Data Science Group at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology and Joint Scientific Lead of COLOSSUS and Ramón Salazar, Head of the Medical Oncology Department at the Hospital Duran i Reynals. Also, the perspective of Translational Research Oncology Nurse Ariadna García was very useful for the patients. The second half of the event was very participative and a debate was created. This allowed people who attended the opportunity to give their opinions and voice their concerns. In this case, the participation of the associations, EuropaColon Espana, Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), El Grupo Español de Pacientes con Cáncer (GEPAC) and Dones en Actiu and of an individual who had participated in a clinical trial, was a great idea as they have more contact with all type of patients and understand their needs.

Special thanks to all involved who made the event a great success: Luís Miguel de la Fuente (Europa Colon), María Ángeles Ayra (AECC), Marcos Martínez (GEPAC), Elisabeth Melchor (Dones en Actiu), the trio of leading oncological experts within the colorectal cancer field, and all of the people who attended. We wish to give a special mention of thanks to Berta Colldeforns Riera, Eric Delgado Muñoz and Javier Gonzalo Ruiz at the VHIO for facilitating this event.
