In May of this year Dr Jonathan Briody, Health Economist at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), provided an international COLOSSUS webinar featuring his COLOSSUS health economic work conducted with Professor Kathleen Bennet (RCSI). Following the success of this seminar, Dr Briody was asked to repeat this event by the President of the New Zealand chapter of ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research – Dr Trudy Sullivan. On the 12th of July, Dr Briody presented on cost-effectiveness in precision medicine in the context of the COLOSSUS project. Dr Briody was joined in describing this topic by Dr Daniel Goldstein MD, a medical oncologist at the Rabin Medical Center, senior lecturer in Medical Oncology at Tel Aviv University and medical director of drug and technology policies in the community division of Clalit Health Services. A multidisciplinary audience of 20 people from across academia, government, industry and NGOs in New Zealand attended.
